June Meeting

What a delightful June meeting!  Lots of members socializing, guests in attendance, tables full of plants, and all the usual fun activities of draws, book and plant sales, goodies, and a wonderful presentation about those dear little hummingbirds!

Lidy and Ron gave us updates on the Competition Plants (Oh dear, it seems this “happy couple” has their own “in family competition” going!)  We have had a few changes in plant choices as well as some questions going back to the growers themselves.  So glad that we have an expert like Ron to keep track!

There was a good showing in both the display table and the bloom contest.

Winners were: Whiteknight’s Pearl hardy fuchsia by Melanie G., Pink Petticoat begonia by Nora B., Carrot Scented pelaronium by Nora B.

The winner of the Display show was “Alps” Miniature African violet by Melanie G. (She noted that it has to be divided by the stem as it won’t produce plants true to the original blue stripe on white petals form.)

Here’s a fun (free!) puzzle link to explore.
I made the puzzle from one of our meeting photos! Try it out!
