October Meeting

The October meeting was a little too early for “spooky stuff” but it was definitely on our minds. (Thank you to Lorna and the Craft Group for giving each of us a little felt Jack O’lantern magnet!)  We all realized that those bright, sunny days cannot last forever, so the focus was on preparing for fall and winter.  There was lots to enjoy in the Parlour Show, Lucky Draw, plants & books for sale, and particularly the socializing!  Check out just a few of the items on display.

The Parlour Show and Bloom contest had good competition!

Parlour Show Winner: Deinostigma tamiana by Melanie G

Bloom contest winners:  Fuchsia -”unknown” by Nora B.,  Begonia -orange begonia by Nora B.,  Pelargonium– Apple Blossom by Sally Iverson

Name that Fuchsia!   We had a special request to try to identify these seven  fuchsias clipped from 40 year old “trees”.  It’s harder than we thought!  We “think” we identified three as Dollar Princess , Waltz Jubelteen, and Lena.

Do you enjoy puzzles?
Here’s a fun (free!) puzzle link to explore.
I made the puzzle from one of our meeting photos! Try it out!
